The first section of Propylene Rectification Tower (C-1530B) of Fushun Ethylene Plant Successfully Lifted to Position

In the morning of Aug. 29, 2009, the first section of propylene rectification Tower (C-1530B) of the new 800kt/a ethylene plant of Fushun Petrochemical Corp. CNPC is erected successfully. This is the first heavy lifting work of the Fushun Petrochemical Corp. 800kt/a Ethylene Expansion Project, and now the project fully enters its heavy lifting phase.
 

Propylene rectification tower is the largest none standard equipment in Fushun Ethylene Plant with 5.6 m diameter and 120.2 m long. Due to complicated construction condition on site and the high safety risk imposed by the height of the tower, erecting the tower in whole is not practical. Wison arranged for several discussion & review sessions with construction subcontractors, and decided to divide the whole body of the tower into five sections to facilitate the erection. The first section is 26.18 m long and weighs 196.3 tons, and is the longest of the five. Project team uses a 1,350 ton crawler crane as the mail crane and a 350 ton crawler crane for assistance, and the erection was successfully done one hour later, when the section was aligned correctly with the skirt and welding on clamps started.
 
The General Manager, Mr. Li Ruoping and Deputy General Manager, Mr. Shi Zhendong of Fushun Petrochemical Corp. were present on site during the erection. They both highly praised the lifting work,  and also decided to arrange for construction contractors of other plants to visit the ethylene plant site and learn from it. The smooth completion of the lifting work also shows the effective project coordination of Wison.
