Recently, Wison Engineering (China), a professional service provider of petrochemical engineering, successfully delivered the 120,000 tons/year ethylene cracking furnace to China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) and Shell Petrochemicals Company (CSPC) to eliminate its capacity bottleneck. Being a key milestone of this project, Wison Engineering has successfully completed all installations by the end of this April. The on-site inspection was approved by experts from CSPC and project management team. On June 10, the unit was successfully fed and put into running at full load.
CSPC is located in HuiZhou Dayawan Petrchemical Industry Park and the capability of ethylene cracking devices before expansion was 800,000 tons/year and 950,000 tons / year after expansion. Wison Engineering is the general contractor of the 120,000 tons / year ethylene cracking furnace, CSPC's largest reconstruction project, and responsible for design, procurement and construction. Wison Engineering, CSPC and Foster Wheeler jointly established a project management team and successfully work together to achieve project implementation and management at international standards. The project started from July 2008 and the whole process of design, procurement and construction last 22 months, equaling to 550,000-hours safely operation without labor loss.
For this project, Wison has deployed its senior consultants and senior engineering specialist who have had more than ten-year experiences in the design, construction and operation of ethylene cracking furnace. The design team consists of up to 50 people and there are almost 100 people involved in design, procurement, construction and management. In order to achieve world-class project management and delivery, Wison made best efforts in management, implementation and staff motivation and strictly followed the management standards and regulations proposed by CSPC. In accordance with project management standards and procedures, Wison conducted design and suppliers' review and management. For key equipments, professional advisers was dedicated to monitor on-site production; during the construction process, Wison was rigorously in compliant with inspection and schedule planning and increase manpower to supervise on quality, construction and management staff to ensure the safety, quality and progress are always under control and reach the safety standard of less than 2 PPM (man-hours). Wison offered a bonus of nearly 1 million RMB to encourage the activeness and initiative of construction employees. All construction groups had outstanding performance in safety production. In 2009, Wison Engineering was awarded as Best Management Service of the Year by CSPC.
""For CSPC's project, Wison Engineering has implemented the most stringent project criteria, from design, procurement to construction and all other aspects. In addition to ensuring timely delivery, Wison has also attached great importance to the management of EHS during the whole process"", said Liu Haijun, Chief Operation Officer of Wison Engineering (China), ""Wison Engineering has extensive rich experiences and expertise in the design, procurement, construction and project management of domestic and international petrochemical, coal chemical and oil refining equipment projects.
