Wison Engineering executed the EPC contract for the expansion of PetroChina Jilin's five cracking furnaces at its 700 kt/a Ethylene Plant. The sixth furnace of the plant was successfully launched on September 26th and the commissioning and delivery was completed by September 30th. Site operations at Jilin Petrochemical have now come to the end. The handover documentation (transfer, processing and settlement) will be carried out at a later date.
The adverse weather conditions in Jilin this year created a difficult construction environment and difficulties in quality and HSE management -especially after the interim handover of the first four furnaces. Unstable production atthe Jilin Petrochemical plant andlengthy unexpectedpauses delayed construction and delivery of the last furnace. These uncertainties led to difficulties in arranging personnel and equipment. However, site personnel overcame the difficulties and completing theproject on schedule, while ensuring its quality and safety.
Drawing from its previous experience in expanding same equipment and same type of cracking furnace, Wison successfully complete the expansion of the five cracking furnaces of PetroChina's Jilin. Adopting Wison's independent cracking furnace technology, the expansions of the remaining three furnaces have now been completed following the completion of two furnaces last year. The completed project allows Jilin Petrochemical to meet its requirements of saving energy and reduce consumption in operating the large-scale ethylene plant, as well as prolong the cycle of operation of the furnaces, reducing overall cost and boosting economic benefits.
