Wison Engineering Recognized as Technology Innovation Company in Chemical Industry

SHANGHAI, 11 November 2015 – Wison Engineering Services Co. Ltd. (the “Company”, SEHK stock code: 2236; together with its subsidiaries known as the “Group”), one of the largest private sector chemical engineering, procurement and construction management (“EPC”) service providers in China, today announced that its indirect non-wholly owned subsidiary, Wison Engineering Ltd., has been awarded Chemical Industry Technology Innovation Demonstration Company in China. This is the third time Wison Engineering has won this honor.

Wison Engineering has always been fully committed with regard to the R&D and innovation of petrochemical and coal-to-chemical technologies. Thus, over the years, it has built up a robust experimental platform for, among other things, catalyst development and testing, and reaction research, In addition, the company also established bench-scale experiment units, two pilot-test units and a suite of assay-analysis instruments, all of which will be further fortified in line with R&D projects progressing. The approximately 33-acre pilot base that Wison Engineering owns in Nanjing Chemical Industry Park focuses on industrial experiments on various things, ranging from methanol to olefin, SNG technology jointly developed with Foster Wheeler and Clariant together; the bottom quench pulverized coal gasification technology in cooperation with Shell has completed demonstration research and enter into commercial operation successfully.

In 2013, Wison Engineering and Tianjin University co-established the “Tianjin University – Wison Research & Development Center for Energy and Chemical Technologies” for the R&D of energy chemical technologies. Together with Guizhou Xinxin Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd., Wison and Tianjin University have fully taken advantage of enterprise-university-research cooperation in the industrialization of coal to ethylene glycol technology. Over the past three years, Wison Engineering has received over ten technical award achievements above the ministerial level. At the same time, there are 20 patents and 5 software copyrights newly granted while near 20 new patent applications have been made.

Wison Engineering is one of the engineering companies with the largest number of proprietary coal-to-chemical technologies in China. Its technologies cover the full modern coal-to-chemical production chain, which includes, among other things, gasification, purification to MTO, coal to ethylene glycol and ethanol, and SNG. With regard to petrochemicals, it owns ethylene-cracking furnace technologies, as well as a number of other technologies, including a butene oxo-dehydrogenation to butadiene technology, and a quench oil viscosity reduction technology. The Chemical Industry Technology Innovation Demonstration Company Award is given out by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF). The companies in line for the award are evaluated according to various criteria, including, among other things, their proprietary core technologies, R&D investment, industrial influence, market awareness, profitability, IP management and QC system, technology commercialization, and innovation strategy and culture. Every company that is awarded this honor is reviewed every three years.
