(SHANGHAI, 21 March 2016 ) Wison Engineering’s team at Site Preparation Project of Puerto la Cruz Refinery Deep Conversion Project was awarded the 2015 Excellent Quality Management Prize by the project owner PDVSA and the PM Company CONFEED. It is the first time that PDVSA issued a quality management award to a general contractor.

Thanks to the high-standard requirements of PDVSA and CONFEED and their guidance to Wison, the award is attributed to the joint efforts of the owner, construction contractors and Wison Engineering. The award not only represents the recognition by PDVSA on the high quality management of the project, but also shows a great affirmation on the project management capacity of Wison Engineering, marking a significant milestone in Wison’s overseas project execution.  At the ceremony, NOEL ANTOINE BOU HARB KARAM, the Quality Manager of PDVSA, gave high marks for Wison Engineering’s efforts “The quality management system for the Site Preparation Project was in line with ISO9001 standards and achieved 100% customer satisfaction, which is beyond our expectations.  The quality management system has played an important role in ensuring the quality control of the entity.”

Since the kick-off of the project, the project team of Wison Engineering strictly complied with the standards and requirements of the owner’s quality management system, and always gave top priority to the implementation of on-site quality control procedures to ensure effective operation of the quality management system. As of February 2016, the ITP rate of the project inspection acceptance was 99% and the passing rate of concrete strength test reached 98.9%, while the qualifying rate of backfilling compactness test and welding test were 98.8% and 96.8% respectively.

In October 2013, Wison Engineering was awarded the procurement and construction contract of the Puerto La Cruz Refinery Deep Conversion Site Preparation Project in Venezuela, which was at that time the largest oil-refinery project won by a Chinese company in the Latin-American region.
